The world is big enough for all of us!

I am in no competition with anyone and here’s why…
When God created me he created me with a specific purpose in mind that only I can fulfill in this world. He programmed in me what I ought to do in the sphere he placed me in. We can all be in the same profession or do similar things but there will always be a difference, there will always be something that sets Wendy apart from the rest and as such we are all uniquely made.
I believe we ought to discover and understand the unique purpose for which God created us and strive to live out that purpose in all we do and live out that purpose excellently. Pursuing excellence and doing  common things in an uncommon way is a better standard to aspire to than comparing  oneself to others whom might be doing what you do for a different purpose and reason.

Strive for excellence , do what you do best to make your mark in the world. Start making a difference where you are!

BACK IN FULL SWING!

This year I thought long and hard about the gift of writing that God gave me that I have not been using. I then decided that I would write more and share with others, but then , something gripped me - fear! . Fear of what you may ask'?,  fear of people judging what I write , what I write about , how I write it etc.. Now it really doesn't matter anymore I will say what I need to say the best way I know and learned how to so far; ti'll  like many,I become an expert in speaking my intelligent and thoughtful mind , because even intelligent and thoughtful people, the great minds,  they make some mistakes and I dare to take my chances too. Wendy is back in full swing. I use this platform still because it was my learning platform and I want to bloom where I am planted. Speak to you all soon and I hope you will enjoy what I have to say .... God bless you all.

Message of hope to the youth

Today marks a one of the most significant days in the history of South Africa as we commemorate and honour  the fallen heroes and  the youth of 1976 and the battle they fought for the freedoms and rights we have today.  The youth today has rights and opportunities more than previous generations however the youth in this generation is also faced with many challenges that are different yet  almost equally hard to solve as generations before. The situations  require the same tenacity and resilience of the youth of 1976 and better yet that of David in the bible when he slayed Goliath with a sling shot. ( 1 Samuel 17:1-58)

The challenges we face not only need a good government in the country but God himself, which is why most of the social challenges we face need to be addressed on a personal basis with each case being different and more complex than the other  , you name them, the list is endless. With all that's facing us as the youth , it is very easy to become despondent and drown in despair but don't allow yourself to fall into that trap, there is a lot you can do to change your situation.

We are the Davids of this generation and we have our place in history  as Goliath slayers.  Just as God enabled David to slay Goliath He can and is willing to enable you to slay the Goliath in your life. Whatever situation you are faced with right now is your Goliath , and just like David people may compare the magnitude and stature of the situation and conclude that there is no way you can conquer it but God says you can and because He says so that mean you can and you will because He will enable you .

Romans 8:37 NKJV " Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us".

Be blessed.

Invest more in your brain than your weave dear sister!

In attempt to keep those who's attention span is less than that of a five year old, I will get the core of why I think it is particularly a good idea to invest in your brain than the weave that covers the scalp within which the brain is contained.

The women that have invested in their brains by getting educated can afford expensive weaves. I mean the higher you go with your level of education , the more your earning potential.

Couple your weave with a book to read,  see while you are getting it done you could improve your vocabulary and become a more interesting person just by reading a book.  Reading among other things , expands your  frame of reference , improves your vocabulary and sentence construction and these benefits will stay with you far longer than the weave will last.

Newspapers are also not that bad I promise , they will save you the embarrassment of looking all so beautiful and not knowing who the deputy president of the country you live is....

Dear sisters and divas we need to have a balanced diet to feed both our appearance and our brain capacity. Give both your body and your brain and your body a good workout for maximum impact.

Lets make beauty with brains the in thing. Be a woman of substance!

The sound of one hand clapping

Nothing irritates me like someone who can never see any good in anyone or anything. Such a person sucks the joy out of life and I have never seen someone like that make a meaningful progress in their life. The one thing that he/she does best is criticize other people and get a kick out of putting other people down.

There are a few people that still know how to give  a genuine complement where its due and even less people who offer encouragement to a person in need of it.

The kind of complements if at all that one hears often are lines like ' well done but you could have done better if...', ' you look great but ...' , nothing good ever follows those lines and it sure is not constructive criticism that follows.

It is in effect the sound of one hand clapping as opposed to a round of applause. Haters don't get too far in life, if you have nothing good to say , please shut up!

Not all who wonder are lost

Very few thing are straight forward in life.  The road which lead to the career path that I have chosen was a very long and winding one. I started out wanting to become an Occupational Therapist , I was very much in touch with my humanitarian side at that time and thought that would be the best way in which I can make a difference in the community that I grew up in.

My second choice was to be a journalist because writing had always been my passion. To cut a long story short , I studied journalism for a year and a half  , I didn't complete the course, then I went for beauty therapy, that too I did not complete and lastly I found my home in Public Relations management.

This is the challenge that being a jack of all trades presented me with, since I have a lot of talents and interest, till I found a career that incorporates not all but most of my passions, business being one of them. To many I seemed to be lost , because I couldn't name exactly what career path I wanted to follow at that point. The one thing that I have always been sure of is that I am going to make a success of my life and I am going to graduate no matter what.

It may have taken me a long time to figure it all out but now that I have, I am ready to take on the world.

formular milk on prescription to reduce infant mortality

Of all the things that the Minister of health could target to address the issue of infant mortality he decided to go for formula milk. A few year's back formula was considered the healthy option but that's besides the point. Did the Minister consider the situation at the state clinic where for any ailment you take a child in for you are given panado syrup and the terrible treatment in general that people receive from the health administers in various government hospital and clinics.

As far as I understand malnutrition is also one of the causes of  infant mortality. food prices increase rapidly and unfortunately one cannot even say that veges and fruits are cheaper because they are not, baby food prices are even worse , now considering that we have a lot of people living below the bread line what are the chances that they will be able to feed infants the right food let alone afford formula milk.

I have also heard of some research that has established that the vaccines that are administered to babies can also weaken their immune system, whether true or not  I think formula milk is the last thing the Minister should be gunning for unless formula milk has been declared the number one cause of infant mortality, instead maybe he should look at subsidising healthy baby food and improving the health care system focusing on how to better treat babies and how to do it efficiently.

There's bigger infant health problems to address than formula milk.
